History[]

Aston Martin was founded as "Bramford & Martin" and they initially sold cars by Singer Motors Ltd, and serviced cars by GWK and Calthorpe.

However, Martin used to race "specials" at the "Aston Hill Climb" near the village of Aston Clinton. So Bramford and Martin decided to make their own vehicles. They managed to acquire new premesis at Henniker Mews, Kensington and produced their first car in March 1915. However, World War I broke out and both Bamford and Martin were drafted into the army.

After the war ended, they found new premises at Abingdon Road, Kensington and designed a new car. However, Robert Bamford left the company in 1920 and after two bankruptcies, Lionel Martin was forced to sell the company. The investors who bought "Bamford & Martin" renamed it to "Aston Martin Motors" [2]

Logo History[]

The Aston Martin logo has had 11 designs throughout its history with a concept logo in 2017, used only on branded fashion items. The iconic logo features a stylized wing-like badge, first introduced in 1927 and has been redesigned many times throughout the years. The current badge looks more elegant and chic as its wings drawn in a minimalistic style; black medium-thick lines over a white background. The first logo, however, was a simple circular badge featuring the letters "A" and "M" in classic typeface. The lines are a dark brown color which a large thickness and the background is golden. The "A" in the logo does not feature a horizontal line but rather relies on the lines of the "M" to substitute for that. [3]
