Audi (officially Audi AG) is a German car manufacturer that appears in Midnight Club: Los Angeles and is owned by the Volkswagen Group. Audi mainly manufactures luxury vehicles and is headquartered in Ingolstadt, Bavaria, Germany. The company also owns other brands such as Lamborghini, Italdesign Giugiaro, Ducati and Bentley; they also have their motorsport division Audi Sport GmbH and own a minority share in Sauber Motorsport AG.
The origin story of Audi is a complex one which dates back to 1909 and the original business Horch and Audiwerke, both founded by engineer August Horsch (1868-1951) in Zwickau. Meanwhile, two other manufacturers DKW and Wanderer would join forces with Horch and Audiwerke to form Auto Union; an automotive group consisting of four German brands and a racing team.[1] It was founded in 1932 in Chemnitz, Saxony, Germany and acted as a direct predecessor to Audi today. Audi's modern era would begin in the 1960s when Volkswagen bought Audi from Daimler-Benz. After relaunching the brand with the launch of the Audi F103 series in 1965, Volkswagen merged Auto Union and NSU Motorenwerke in 1969, therefore creating the Audi we know today.
Audi's name is based on the Latin translation of "Horch" meaning "listen" in German; this translates into "audi" in Latin. The four rings in the logo each represent 1 of the 4 car companies that formed Auto Union (Audiwerke, DKW, Horch and Wanderer). Audi's slogan is "Vorsprung durch Technik", which translates to "Progess through Technology." Audi is amongst the best-selling luxury auto brands in the world, alongside BMW and Mercedes-Benz. [2]

Logo History[]
The Audi logo has had 12 different designs over the years, with the current design being the 4 rings that overlap each other. The font for "Audi" has been used since 1909 and remained unchanged until 2009. Distinctive features on the wordmark included a notch in the uppercase "A", a simplified writing of the letter "U", a specific form of the letter "d" which looks like a musical note, and the lowercase letter "I" without the dot above. The 4-ringed logo was designed by August Horch for the process of uniting the four German car companies under one brand. The most recent designs involved the rings being colored silver and the "Audi" wordmark being colored red. The design afterwards simplified the Audi font and the last design just uses the 4 rings.
