"Looks like By Invitation Only is back in Tokyo and holding a tournament of their own. Get yourself into an exotic, and show them that you're not afraid of a little speed. We're a lot of money, he he he he he. Know what I mean?" - Tomoya

"Exotics only! Only the club's best members are here from the States. Win and you'll receive a 1998 Gemballa F355." - Nav System description

The By Invitation Only Tournament is the first tournament of the Tokyo Challenge in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition (REMIX). The tournament opens once the player starts the mode.

However, the tournament is technically unplayable until the player obtains an Exotic vehicle, which can happen as early as when the player wins the City Tournament in Detroit, unlocks Class A vehicles, or wins the Imperial Palace Tournament if the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R is the only Class A vehicle available.

Summary[]

When the player enters Tokyo, which can happen anytime within the Career Mode, the player is introduced to Tomoya, the Japanese mechanic that owns the Speedway garage in Tokyo. After the introduction cutscene, Tomoya informs the player that the By Invitation Only Exotic car club has arrived in Tokyo, willing to accept entries for one participant, and a 1998 Gemballa F355 is the reward for the winner.

Although the tournament is open upon starting the mode, the player cannot participate in it until they own an Exotic vehicle (in which, the player must progress through the Career Mode until the early-mid part of Detroit, in which the player must win the City Tournament, which awards the Cadillac Cien, which opens after defeating Ceasar, or wins the Imperial Palace Tournament (if the player obtains the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R from completing the Original Riders and proceeds to grind the Tokyo City Races with the said bike, or unlocks the Class A vehicles for purchase (since it is the only vehicle class to have exotics, and are the only cars in the class) by winning sufficient races in Detroit).

The player races against 6 random exotic-driving opponents, in which the Chrysler ME Four-Twelve, Lamborghini Murciélago Coupe, McLaren F1 LM, Saleen S7, Pagani Zonda C-12 S or the Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR will be the typical vehicle choices for the opponents if one drives any of the exotics listed above. The first race will take place in Super Joy, the second being Shortcuts, the third in Drift, the fourth being Ginza Circuit and the final race being Asakusa Circuit.

Rewards[]

Upon completing the tournament, the player earns $25,000 and the 1998 Gemballa F355 being added to their garage, as well as being unlocked for regular use.

If the player has a full garage upon winning the tournament, or has already obtained an F355 early through illegitimate means, the player will be given $200,000 as a compensatory reward.
