The Career Mode is the main mode of Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition.

Act 1: San Diego[]

The player begins in San Diego by meeting Oscar (David Barrera), the mechanic of Six-One-Nine Customs, a tuning garage in San Diego. Oscar guides the player through the game by providing helpful tips and information about races. The player begins with a choice of the following seven cars.

Not allotted by the $22,000 budget, but unlocked immediately

Requires Tokyo Challenge progress

In Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition REMIX, it is possible for the player to make Tokyo Challenge progress before even starting Career Mode, opening the possibility the player unlocks/wins an additional 6 vehicles available through Tokyo Tournaments eligible without any career progression required.

After buying their starter car, the player is thrown into a Rites of Passage race against Vanessa, Carlos and Bishop. The player wins and officially starts the Career Mode, with the three racers being the player's initial challengers.

Initial Racers

After winning the initial Rites of Passage race, the player challenges the three rivals above, with the player being mandated to defeat Vanessa and one of the other two rivals to progress. Upon defeating each of the initial rivals, with Vanessa granting the invitation for the Unbeatable Street Racers, Carlos granting the invitation to the American Royalty Car Club and Bishop granting the invitation to the Luxury Rollers Car Club.

By beating any of the initial racers, and getting invited to the clubs, each club will organize a tournament that awards a complimentary Class D vehicle to start the player in their respective Club Races. The player is required to win one of the three tournaments below to progress.

Initial Tournaments

Upon defeating two of the initial racers, Oscar will receive a phone call from Phil, with Oscar informing the player that Phil wants to challenge him. Beating him in a 4 race series will invite the player to the Chopper of America Bike Club, as well as being given the Hotmatch Cuevito to start the player in the club races.

Following Phil's defeat, and the player's participation in one of the three initial tournaments, Vanessa returns in a turquoise-pink color shift upgraded Mitsubishi Eclipse GT-S. The player defeats her again, and is allowed to proceed to Atlanta.

Later Racers

Act 2: Atlanta[]

Upon entering Atlanta following Vanessa's second defeat, three racers, namely Dre, Roy and Vito will begin looking for challengers to take them on, along with DUB Magazine offering a DUBbed out Cadillac Escalade EXT as a starter vehicle for the Big Playas Club Races.

Tournaments

Initial Challengers

During the run, the player defeats all three racers (though one of Dre or Vito will become optional if the other is beaten), with Dre giving the player the Big Playas invitation (unless the player has already beaten Lamont beforehand) and Vito giving the player the Original Riders invitation. With the likely outcome the player having not yet unlocked Class B vehicles (where the Ducati Monster S4R being the first purchasable Sports Bike being unlocked with the Class B license), the Original Riders set up the Ducati SS1000 as a tournament reward for the Hotlanta Tournament as a way to start the player in the Original Riders club races.

Round 2 Racers

After the player defeats the initial three racers, three other racers will challenge the player, listed above, with one of Cheng or Naomi becoming optional once the player defeats one of the two mentioned, and Lamont being mandatory due to his later participation in the U.S. Championship Series, also giving the player the right to challenge the Big Playas if the player had not defeated Dre yet.

After defeating Roy in his initial match, along with Lamont, Roy will return in a 1999 Dodge Charger R/T Concept. Defeating him, along with having also defeated Cheng or Naomi will allow the player to proceed to Detroit.

Act 3: Detroit[]

The player arrives in Detroit, Michigan following Roy's second defeat (along with one of Cheng or Naomi) to attend an American Royalty Car Club meeting, with the club offering a 1949 Chevrolet Fleetline as the prize for the Bad Boyz Tournament.

Upon the player's arrival in Detroit, Roy returns in a 2000 Dodge Viper GTS-R Concept, willing to settle the score with the player for a third time, but unfortunately is defeated, along with Spider and Leo.

Initial Racers Upon arriving in Detroit, three racers will challenge the player.

When the player defeats each of the initial racers, the player will later be challenged by the following racers, with the requirements listed below.

After defeating Leo, DUB organizes a tournament in San Diego that rewards a DUBbed out Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG to the winner.

Upon defeating Ceasar in his first encounter, the player is challenged by the By Invitation Only Car Club, a club that specializes in Exotic cars, with the club offering the Cadillac Cien as a starter vehicle for the club races.

Act 4: U.S. Championship Series[]

After defeating all 7 Detroit racers, the Car Clubs organize one final series, titled U.S. Championship Series, where each club (except for the Luxury Rollers Car Club) bring out one racer to represent them in the series. Except for the motorcycle representatives, who ride the prize bike for winning their club races, all other racers are required to drive high-end exotics (except for Angel who drives the Cadillac Cien, a low-end exotic that is commonly encountered by the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34)).

Upon winning all 14 races in the series, Vince will give the Lamborghini Murciélago VT to honor the player for becoming the U.S. Champion.
