Drift and Conquer is an unordered race in Midnight Club: Los Angeles and is located in The Hills area.

Route

The race starts at the West 101 Freeway and Laurel Canyon Drive intersection and continues south along Laurel Canyon to the first checkpoint at the Ventura Boulevard intersection. At this checkpoint, racers tend to take one of four different routes:

1. Continue along Laurel Canyon Dr. until the Mulholland Drive intersection and then turn left to the Eastward loop.
2. The same as Route 1 but turn right to the Westward loop.
3. Turn right and continue down Ventura Blvd. until reaching the Coldwater Canyon Avenue intersection. Then take a left to continue around the Coldwater Canyon loop.
4. Turn left and continue down Ventura until reaching the intersection at Mulholland. Then take a right and continue around the Mulholland loop.

After taking one of the four routes, the race will end near the intersection of Ventura Drive and Laurel Canyon Drive.

Route 1

Once the racers turn left, they drive to the Woodrow Wilson Drive checkpoint. There are many options for routes to the next checkpoint, involving either Mulholland Drive, Woodrow Wilson Drive, Nichols Canyon Drive or an un-named road leading to a cliff jump. The typical route is to turn left onto Woodrow Wilson and go east until reaching Mulholland again. However, the player has many options:

1. Go east along Mulholland and drive straight to the cliff jump.
   • This route is fast and saves time but the landing is not always ideal
2. Stay on Mulholland only, taking a right before the cliff jump road and going to the next checkpoint.
   • This route can carry speed and allow better car control.
3. Go on Mulholland, turn right onto Nichols Canyon Drive and then go straight back onto Mulholland.
   • This route also carries speed and control, the turns just happen earlier. May or may not be ideal.
4. Same as route 3 but turn left onto Woodrow Wilson, then turn right onto Mulholland again.
   • Not ideal as speed is lost and is too complex.
5. Turn right onto Woodrow Wilson and go straight until reaching Mulholland again, then turn right.
   • Typical route that racers take and is a fairly good route.
6. Same as route 5 but turn right onto Nichols Canyon Drive and continue straight to next checkpoint.
   • Not usually ideal but can work sometimes.

Afterwards, racers drive along Mulholland until reaching Ventura, turning left to go west until reaching Coldwater Canyon. Alternately, races can use the canal shortcuts and save time if going faster than opponents. Once reaching the checkpoint, racers turn left to go south on Coldwater Canyon Ave, following the road until Mulholland again. The route is very straightforward from this point as racers stay on Mulholland, opting to take shortcuts or alternate routes if they choose (except the shortcut cutting across the hairpin). The route continues till Laurel Canyon Dr. and then, racers turn left to go north and follow the road,going straight to the finish.

Route 2

Once turning right to go westward along Mulholland Drive, the path is very straightforward aside from shortcuts and alternate roads located along the way. Racers follow the route until reaching the Coldwater Canyon Avenue intersection. The racers will then turn right to go north on Coldwater Canyon until reaching Ventura Boulevard, turning left to go east towards the Mulholland Drive intersection. Just like the Route 1, racers can alternatively follow the canal shortcuts to cut across Ventura and get to Mulholland faster. However, this only works if the racer has much more speed than the opponents.

Once reaching the Mulholland Dr. intersection, the racers turn right and travel south along the road until reaching the area of Woodrow Wilson Drive and Nichols Canyon Drive, near the cliff jump. The racers can use the same roads as in Route 1 except for the un-named cliff jump road. However, the routes that racers typically take are either driving along Mulholland or turning onto Woodrow Wilson to reach the checkpoint. Driving along Mulholland allows the racer to build up more speed past the next checkpoint without having to turn left. However, driving onto Woodrow Wilson road allows a direct path to the checkpoint, and possibly getting ahead of opponents. Sometimes, racers will travel straight onto Nichols Canyon Drive and then turn left onto Woodrow Wilson and continue to the checkpoint. Afterwards, the racers will continue to the Laurel Canyon intersection and turn right, travelling north up the road and heading straight to the finish line.

Route 3

When at Laurel Canyon & Ventura, the racers turn left to continue west along Ventura until reaching the Coldwater Canyon intersection. Then, they turn left and travel south along the road until reaching the Mulholland intersection. Racers will continue straight while keeping to the left side to stay on Mulholland and follow a straightforward path with some shortcuts and alternate routes until reaching Laurel Canyon. Afterwards, the racers continue straight to travel eastward and reach Woodrow Wilson Drive; the same routes can be taken as Route 1 until reaching Mulholland & Ventura. At this checkpoint, racers tend to travel straight (going north) until reaching the 101 Freeway and then turn left to go west until reaching Laurel Canyon. Once they reach, they turn left again and travel straight to the finish line. Alternately, racers can use the canal shortcuts to travel parallel to the 101 Freeway directly go to the finish line.

Route 4

At Laurel Canyon & Ventura, racers turn right to continue east along Ventura, until reaching the Mulholland intersection. Then, they turn left continue south along Mulholland Dr. following the curvature of the road until reaching the checkpoint near the cliff jump. Afterwards, there are many options that racers can take before reaching the checkpoint at Woodrow Wilson Drive, using the same roads as Route 1, except the cliff jump road. The typical routes taken here are the same as in Route 2. Afterwards, racers continue to the Laurel Canyon Dr. intersection and continue on the west loop towards Coldwater Canyon & Ventura.

At this checkpoint, racers typically drive straight towards the 101 Freeway and then turn right to go east until reaching Laurel Canyon Drive. Finally, the racers turn right onto Laurel Canyon and go to the finish. Another option is to turn right into the canals and drive parallel to the freeway; the canals are slightly better because racers can ultimately just drive straight to the finish.

Power-Up Locations

Almost all power-ups in Arcade Mode are located near every checkpoint, except the following checkpoints:

• Checkpoint 8 / 11 / 15 / 3 - Mulholland Dr.
• Checkpoint 11 / 8 / 3 / 15 - Coldwater Canyon Ave.

These checkpoints are located right before/after the Ventura Blvd. checkpoints at Coldwater Canyon Ave. and Mulholland Dr., depending on which route is taken.
