"Orale Holmes, Here we go, the Ducati 1000, one of the best bikes on the road" - Oscar
The Ducati Super Sport 1000 (shortened in-game as Ducati SS1000) is a Class B Sport Bike in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition.
The SS1000 is awarded early in Atlanta after the player gets an invite to the Original Riders following Vito's defeat, being a prize for the Hotlanta Tournament, organized by the club to get a starter bike for the club races.
Description[]
The SS1000 was Ducati's flagship of their SuperSport series, one which would see the range through to it's discontinuation in 2007. The line evolved into the SportClassic range which included the Paul Smart 1000 LE, later featured in the Remix expansion of the game.
Performance[]
The SS1000 has standard performance for a Class B sport bike, but due to how early it can be obtained (as the player is able to challenge Vito right after entering Atlanta, and getting invited to the Original Riders bike club, which offers this bike as a starter bike for those willing to attempt their club races right away), it can quickly demonstrate dominance over the mid game opponents even without nitrous installed (owing to how Sport Bikes and Choppers are limited to the Class D nitrous capacity), provided the player can handle it properly (as the player loses 5 seconds every crash that knocks their rider off the bike), and not bothered by the reduced nitro capacity, though there are better options for the late part of Atlanta and the early part of Detroit, such as any of the Class B Tuners or the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34). However, despite being given out as a starter bike for the Original Riders bike club, the player can leave the club races for them until after the U.S. Championship Series, which will allow the player to use the Aprilia RSV Mille 1000R Factory or Ducati 999R instead, as well as significantly increasing payouts from each race.
Owing to being a two wheeled motorcycle, the SS1000 only has the same Nitrous capacity as Class D Cars, as with every other Sport Bikes and Choppers. Despite this, the bike is slower than the Ducati Monster S4R or Ducati Paul Smart 1000, though it's handling stat makes up for it, being intentionally given out as a starter bike for the Original Riders.
As being one of the Class B Sport Bikes, it is one of the few Class B vehicles to encounter Saleen S7 opponents with max upgrades, along with the other Class B Sport Bikes and the Dodge Viper GTS-R Concept.

Usage[]
Owing to how early it's tournament opens, it may be the first Class B vehicle the player obtains, which can allow the player to enter the Wharf Tournament that rewards a 2006 Dodge Charger SRT-8 or the Original Riders Tournament that rewards a Ducati Paul Smart 1000 in the Tokyo Challenge. But since it is a two-wheeled motorcycle, it suffers from many weaknesses, such as being immobilized after every hard crash, which will take at least 5 seconds to recover from, as well as having Class D Nitrous capacity. Despite the bike being capable to handle the early part of Detroit until the player unlocks Class A vehicles, the SS1000 is not as good as the other Class B Ducati sport bikes (though has better handling as them) and any of the Class B Tuners, which have the full nitrous capacity.
As the bike can be won in the early part of Atlanta, it will have no nitrous due to the nitro capacity of the bikes being the same as Class D cars until level 1 upgrades for Class B vehicles are unlocked, which will add one nitro to the bike, and only up to two nitro shots with level 2 upgrades.
The bike being given out in a tournament is intentionally meant to help the player get started in the Original Riders bike club races, though it is recommended to not do any of the said club races until after the U.S. Championship Series, when the player has access to Class A Sport Bikes, namely the Aprilia RSV Mille 1000R Factory or Ducati 999R, unless the player wants the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R, which can also be used as an alternative early method to win Pagani Zonda C-12 S early from the Imperial Palace Tournament.
Despite the SS1000's performance and availability, the bike is outperformed by the other Class B Sport Bikes, the Class B Tuners, and even a level 1 SS1000 is outperformed by the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34), owing to the SS1000's slower performance as well as the limited nitrous capacity of the sport bikes, and the risks of losing seconds every crash, which negates it's usage in the early portion of Detroit.
Also, the Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG, which can be won from the San Diego DUB Tournament can be used in place of the SS1000 for the majority of early Detroit, until one has access to Class A vehicles, as the SL 55, being an AMG vehicle, already has the performance of a maxed Class B car and cannot be upgraded except for nitrous.
Eligibility[]
Owing to how early the SS1000 could be acquired, the bike itself is eligible for the following races, though the player must be good at riding sport bikes to use it against cars, as well as being careful not to crash it as the bike has very limited nitro tanks to cover the lost time:
- San Diego, California street Racers: Carlos or Bishop (whichever was not defeated to progress to Phil)
- Atlanta, Georgia street Racers: All racers except Vito
- Detroit, Michigan street Racers: All racers
- Tournaments: All US Career tournaments except one of City Tournament (San Diego), Stage Tournament or Balboa Park Tournament, since one is required to challenge Vanessa's second rematch and the Hotlanta Tournament since that is where this bike is won from, Wharf Tournament, Original Riders Tournament.
- All Original Riders Club Races.
- All 34 Tokyo Challenge races.
- All U.S. Championship Series races, though the player will probably be able to use the exotics such as the McLaren F1 LM, Chrysler ME Four-Twelve or the Pagani Zonda C-12 S, or if prefers to ride a sports bike, any of the Class A ones.
Acquisition[]
The bike will be added to the player's garage once the Hotlanta Tournament has been finished.
If the player’s garage is either full (30 vehicles) or already obtained an SS1000 early through hacking, the player will be paid it’s purchase cost instead ($12,200 in the original release; $10,995 in REMIX).
Trivia[]
- The SS1000 is a Prize Vehicle, being given out as a starter bike for the Original Riders club, meaning that it can be unlocked considerably more early than the rest of the Class B vehicles in the game, provided the player defeated only Vito and then participated and won the Hotlanta Tournament, making it a very good choice to pursue when Vito challenges the player, then the club invites the player to participate in their club races, later setting up the Hotlanta Tournament to give out a starter bike to get the player started in their club races.
- The SS1000 is the first B-Class vehicle the player obtains, due to the possibility of the player defeating Vito right after opening Atlanta, then winning it's tournament to win the bike.
- The player may use the said bike to win the Dodge Charger SRT-8 right after winning the Hotlanta Tournament, by winning 6 Tokyo City Races to open the Wharf Tournament, then using the bike to win the tournament.
- The same can be done with the Ducati Paul Smart 1000, by opening the Original Riders Tournament after 30 Tokyo Races, then participating in it with a stock SS1000.
- It was originally valued at $12,200 in the original version of the game. The price was reduced to $10,995 in the Remix edition. The player can see the price if they were to sell the SS1000 or win the Hotlanta Tournament with a full garage.
