Fishtailing' is a unique "ability" featured in Midnight Club II. It involves the player drifting left and right while tapping the handbrake button (space key in the PC release) and allows the player to reach ludicrous speed as long as they don't crash their car (reaching 250 MPH/402 KMH).
In fact, all cars can do the fishtail trick, however some cars are brilliant and some are very bad in this.
Here's an example: The Cocotte and the Torque JX are very difficult to master while performing the said trick and the latter is unable to perform due to its massive weight. Cars such as the Emu and the Lusso XT are a good choice until the player unlocks the Veloci, which masters at fishtailing while not counting the SLF450X.
Trivia[]
- It is the only ability in the game that isn't mentioned nor is it shown.
- In later games starting from Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, this seems to be patched out in order to prevent players from "cheating in races".
- It may come very handy when dealing tough races including those when beating Savo (with practice).
