Ford (officially Ford Motor Company) is an American multinational automaker that appears in Midnight Club: Los Angeles. It was founded by Henry Ford on June 16, 1903. They sell automobiles and commercial vehicles under "Ford" and luxury cars under the "Lincoln" brand.

Ford introduced large-scale manufacturing methods of cars and large-scale management of an industrial workforce by introducing the moving assembly line in automobile factories. By 1914, these methods were widely known as "Fordism".

Ford Motor Company is the second-largest American-based automaker (behind General Motors) and the sixth-largest globally (behind Toyota, Volkswagen Group, Hyundai Motor Group, Stellantis and General Motors). This data is based on their 2022 vehicle production output. At the end of 2010, Ford became the fifth-largest automobile manufacturer in Europe. During the 2007-2008 financial crisis, Ford had faced financial struggles like many companies around the world. However, they did not need to be rescued by the United States government, unlike General Motors and Chrysler Group (former name of Stellantis).

Ford has owned a few different car manufacturers over its history. In 1989 and 2000 respectively, Ford managed to acquire Jaguar and Land Rover; both companies were sold to Indian automaker Tata Motors in March 2008. Ford also had owned Swedish automaker Volvo from 1999 to 2010. In 1938, Edsel Ford, son of founder Henry Ford, had created a division for entry-level luxury cars named Mercury. Mercury had sold cars in the United States, Canada, Mexico and the Middle East. However, in 2011, Ford had discontinued Mercury possibly due to low sales.[1]

Logo History[]

The Ford logo has gone through 14 different designs over time, however the design has largely remained the same since 1927, only undergoing minimal to moderate redesigns. The logo has mainly retained the cursive writing from the 1909 logo, while the outside border has had different shapes from oval to diamond. [2]
