Gemballa (officially Gemballa GmbH) is an automobile manufacturer that appears in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition and specializes in customization and aftermarket parts mainly for Porsche cars. The company was founded by and named after Uwe Gemballa in 1981 and is headquartered in Leonberg, Germany.
In May 2010, Gemballa's factory was seized by the German authorities and shut down following the disappearance of Uwe Gemballa. Unfortunately, Uwe was later found dead in South Africa. In August 2010, CEO Andreas Schwarz and investor Steffen Korbach were able to buy the brand and name rights and refounded the company as Gemballa GmbH. In 2016, Steffen Korbach became the main CEO of the company and Andreas Schwarz stepped down; reportedly Korbach also took over Schwarz' company shares as well.[1]
Appearance in the Midnight Club series[]
Gemballa, a brand that produces aftermarket parts and specially tuned variants primarily for Porsche and Ferrari, serves as a substitute for the models from Porsche and Ferrari they are based on due to licensing difficulties for the said manufacturers, the former, likely due to an exclusive licensing agreement with Electronic Arts at the time of the game's releases.
Gemballa has appeared in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, with the Gemballa Turbo Coupe, a tuned variant of the Porsche 911 (996), while the REMIX version of the game added two other tuned Gemballas, the GT750, being based on the Porsche Cayenne (955), and the F355, a tuned variant of the Ferrari car of the same name.

Logo History[]
The Gemballa Logo has had about 2 to 3 different designs over its short history. The wordmark used a simple sans-serif type font and was featured on both emblems at the top. The first emblem has a stylish hi-tech feel with white letters set against a black trim. The letters have a very unusual shape that is based on squares and have distorted proportions, giving the design a unique, dynamic and memorable look. I
n the center of the emblem, there is a circle with straight and curved lines forming a "grid" of longitude and latitude lines. This is supposed to represent the globe of the world, possibly showing its worldwide appeal. Over the globe, the word "DESIGN" in all-caps and red overlaps it. Founder Uwe Gemballa's signature is then placed underneath the word "DESIGN." The second emblem very much retains the same design except for the globe, "DESIGN" wordmark and symbol. These are all replaced by a red letter "G" that has lines forming into a spiral. [2]
Trivia[]
- Both Gemballa exotics can be frequently encountered by a maxed Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34), despite the aforementioned car being listed as a Class C Tuner.
- This is due to the Skyline's maxed performance matching the low-end exotics.
