"Hey mister, listen to me for a second. I'm about to hook you up. DUB is running a little private tournament. You gotta go in, but remember, you gotta be in a Class D car to enter. You gotta keep it fair." - Tomoya
"Class "D" vehicles only! Race against Tokyo's best in this 4 race tournament. Win and you'll be rewarded with a DUBbed out 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T." - Nav System description
The Ginza Tournament is the second tournament of the Tokyo Challenge in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition (REMIX). The tournament opens once the player wins 3 Tokyo City Races.
The tournament is restricted to D-Class vehicles, and the winner will earn a Dodge Magnum R/T DUB Edition.
Summary[]
When the player wins their 3rd Tokyo City Race, Tomoya calls the player, telling him that DUB is running a private tournament, with them only accepting entries from drivers who drive a Class D vehicle. The tournament is hidden from the map if they drive a Class C or higher vehicle due to the tournament's regulations, in which the player must load Cruise in any Class D car for the tournament to show up.
The player races against 4 random opponents, in a four-race tournament with race 1 taking place in Stage Race 1, race 2 being Stage Race 2, race 3 being Stage Race 3 and the last race being Final Stage Race. Despite being a tournament restricted to Class D vehicles, driving a maxed out Lexus IS300, Chrysler 300C, Infiniti G35 or Cadillac CTS-V can cause opponents to drive as high as the Saleen SR, 1999 Dodge Charger R/T Concept or Lotus Esprit, which are Class B Tuners.
Opponents[]
- Hayato
- Kenta
- Shota
- Takumi
Rewards[]
Upon completing the tournament, the player earns $2,500 and a DUB customized 2005 Dodge Magnum R/T being added to their garage, as well as being unlocked for purchase.
If the player has a full garage upon winning the tournament, or having already obtained a Magnum early through illegitimate means, the player will be paid $52,000 to cover the Magnum's price, along with it's custom DUB parts' costs.
Eligible Vehicles[]
Trivia[]
- The player can also use this tournament to get a head start in the U.S. Career Mode, being able to use the Dodge Magnum R/T as their starter car for the Career Mode.
- One must just buy one of the starter cars, in which they can spend $16,000 on the Scion tC to save their budget on upgrading the Magnum, win three Tokyo Races, then do this tournament, afterwards, selling the tC and upgrading the Magnum with level 1 performance parts before going straight to the Career Mode.
- The tournament bears similarities to the Stage Tournament in San Diego, since the races are all named Stage.
- Despite being a tournament restricted to Class D vehicles, opponents may drive as high as the Class B Tuners, making this tournament difficult for players who bring a vehicle that can spawn Class B tuners.
- This is likely due to maxed Class D vehicles having equal performance to a stock Class B vehicle of their type.
