"Quick as a whip, the ZX-14 is always first off the line, but proper handling at high speeds takes a sure and delicate touch." - Website description
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 is a motorcycle in the Ninja sport bike series from the Japanese manufacturer Kawasaki that was their most powerful sport bike as of 2006. It was introduced at the 2005 Tokyo Motor Show and released for the 2006 model year as a replacement for the Kawasaki ZZ-R1200 (2002-2005). The ZZR1400 is capable of accelerating from 0–60 mph in 2.5 seconds. The top speed is electronically limited to 186 mph (299 km/h) as a result of an agreement between the major Japanese and European motorcycle manufacturers.
In Midnight Club: Los Angeles, the Ninja ZX-14 is often used in the late game due to it's extremely high stats and low price, provided the player can handle it properly and avoid crashing it, it may be used by some players for most of the late-game races if they can handle sport bikes properly, except in specific missions where sport bikes are not allowed, though it is highly discourage to use it a lot as the only races required by the sport bikes are the 35 wins required to face the Motorcycle Champ, as well as Andrew's Sport Bike-restricted duels.
Despite it's listed stats as claimed by the garage, the Ninja ZX-14's actual top speed is lower than the Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster, Ford Shelby Cobra Concept and Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, with the ZX-14's handling being at par with the Audi R8 4.2 FSi Quattro, though the ZX-14 has the fastest acceleration of all non-DLC vehicles in the game, only beaten by the Ducati 1098R from the second South Central Vehicle Pack.
Description[]
In Midnight Club: Los Angeles, the Ninja is an A-Class, Group 4 Sports Bike. It costs $17,000 and has very high acceleration and agility, making it an overpowered budget beast, however, it's light weight and being a two-wheeled motorcycle has several trade-offs, being trickier to handle, having extremely low damage tolerance and hitting traffic at high speeds will make the rider fall off the bike, losing 5-10 seconds worth of race time.
The bike is known to be the second fastest accelerating vehicle in the game, only surpassed by the Ducati 1098R, though the Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster, Ford Shelby Cobra Concept and Saleen S7 Twin Turbo have the highest top speed of all vehicles in the game.
Performance[]
The Ninja ZX-14 is regarded as a high-performance motorcycle. It is powered by a 1,352 cc (82.5 cu in) four-stroke, liquid-cooled, 16-valve DOHC inline-four engine producing 190 horsepower.
The Ninja ZX-14 has a top speed of 210 MPH (338 km/h) at stock or 235 MPH (378 KM/H) when maxed with no nitrous, 10 mph lower than most A-Class, Group 4 Exotic cars, which top out at 245 mph (394 km/h) when maxed out. A Ninja ZX-14 maxed tops out at 257 mph (413 km/h) with nitrous, lower than the Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster's 267 mph (430 km/h).
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 is notoriously overpowered for it's low cost of $17,000. It has very fast acceleration and very responsive handling, especially when compared to the more expensive and high-end exotics such as the Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster and Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, especially with all level 2 upgrades, which was done to compensate for being tricky to master it's handling, having the lowest damage tolerance, and the player rider being bucked off every high speed hit, taking 5 seconds to remount after every crash.
Due to it's extremely low cost, and extremely high stats, some users will use the ZX-14 or the Ducati 1098R for the rest of the game, provided they can handle sports bikes better than other cars, however, it comes at a major cost of being easily damaged out faster, and taking longer to remount after crashing. The bike is also a good vehicle to use for Goal Attacks due to it's higher stats, provided the player can be careful not to damage the bike more than 25% as it's lighter weight makes it easier to rack up damage, as well as one hard hit on a traffic car will make it suffer severe damage, making the Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster DUB Edition a better choice for the late part of the game, as the bike's higher risk makes most users lose more time when crashing, while the player can make less mistakes with the Lamborghini.
However, after the release of the South Central Premium Upgrade, the Ninja was outclassed by the Audi R8 4.2 FSi Quattro, which received a significant buff due to how overpowered the Ninja was at launch. The Ducati 1098R, part of the South Central Vehicle Pack 2 would later outclass the Ninja with faster acceleration and slightly higher top speed with nitrous, however, the Ninja just has higher handling stats when compared to the 1098R's performance stats.
Stats[]
Although the garage claims the Ninja ZX-14 has the highest handling and speed stat (with a maxed out Ducati 1098R having the same acceleration and top speed), though the Ninja handles better than the aforementioned bike, the ZX-14's top speed and handling are worse than the Audi R8 4.2 FSi Quattro and Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster, with the ZX-14 being limited to 235 mph (378 km/h) without any nitrous used. Only the acceleration stats are correct for the Ninja.

Acquisition[]
The bike can be purchased from the garage in Midnight Club: Los Angeles for $17,000 after receiving the Champion rank, which is the required rank to unlock Group 4 vehicles.
Usage[]
The Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 is one of the most used vehicles in the game. It's over-usage is due to it's low price of $17,000 and it's very high stats, having one of the fastest acceleration and responsive handling, being a very fast, agile and nimble sports bike, in which it's performance stats and cost are to trade-off for the difficulty to master it's riding, as well as the extremely low durability and damage tolerance. Despite the high speed rating, the Exotics have a higher top speed. it has higher revs per minute due to how light it is and it's super-fast acceleration.
Many users would start buying this bike or the Ducati 1098R as soon as they struggle to win races with their cars, in which, the bike's low cost and extreme performance makes many users buy it in frustration. Once they successfully get used to the bike’s handling, they would use it for the remainder of the game, provided they find it easier to win races with sport bikes, and not caring about it's very low durability. Some users would also buy it after Downtown Andrew 2, due to the fact that after Andrew gives them a mission to win 6 races with a motorcycle, they would need to buy one.
Despite this, the game discourages the player from using the bike too much due to vehicle-type champions requiring 35 wins in their specific vehicle types (after unlocking group 4 vehicles), as if the player uses the bike too much, they only get the Motorcycle Champ's challenge.
However, since the bike is tricky to handle, despite how sharp it turns, and is very fragile and risky, the Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster DUB Edition is a better choice for the endgame, due to it's easier handling and higher durability.
Visual Customization[]
Users[]
The Ninja ZX-14 is ridden by two NPC characters, Lester and Oswaldo. Both Lester and Oswaldo can be frequently encountered on their Ninjas in the same race if the player uses a high-end A Class vehicle.
Most of the time, both Kawasaki opponents will usually spawn at the same time, along with Doc in a stock Audi R8 4.2 FSi Quattro, when driving a fully upgraded Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster, Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder, Saleen S7 Twin Turbo or Ford Shelby Cobra Concept.
Lester's Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14[]
Lester rides an orange Ninja ZX-14 with a license plate that reads "SHURIKN", second set of Tail, Tank and Cowl parts, RC Components Havoc rims, and Pirelli Supercorsa tires.
Oswaldo's Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14[]
Oswaldo, as the Motorcycle Champ rides a blue Ninja ZX-14, with a license plate that reads "ULTIM8", first set of Tail, Tank and Cowl parts, Performance Machines Gatlin rims, and Pirelli Corsa tires. He only spawns in races where Lester can appear on his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14, provided Lester appears in the race, even if Lester drives his Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG.
Time Trial Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14[]
A black Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 can be used in the Downtown Time Trial. It can only be ridden in this time trial and cannot be obtained by the player unless they re-create it. It's license plate reads NNJAMGC.
Trivia[]
- Oswaldo's Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 can also occasionally appear in races where Lester is driving his Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG, provided the vehicle the player is using can spawn Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 opponents.
- Despite being shown in the garage to have the highest performance stats (though the garage claims the Ducati 1098R maxed has the same acceleration and speed as a maxed ZX-14), it actually has a lower top speed than the Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster, Ford Shelby Cobra Concept, Audi R8 4.2 FSi Quattro and Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, in which it only can run a maximum of 235 MPH (378 KM/H) without nitrous or 257 mph (413 km/h) with nitrous, assuming the bike is fully upgraded, compared to the aforementioned cars' having a no-nitro top speed of 245 mph (394 km/h) and having the same top speed with nitrous, and less handling than the Murciélago and R8, with only maximum acceleration as the ZX-14's advantage.
- Due to the Ninja's intensely high stats and low price, the bike is often used by many to complete achievements/trophies easily, provided they can handle the sport bikes properly and avoid crashing them often.
- The Ninja's opponent selections are shared with the following cars based on upgrade level (opponent selections are the same from Medium difficulty onwards)
- Stock: Maxed Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster or Ford Shelby Cobra Concept
- Level 1: Maxed Lamborghini Gallardo Spyder (or same as above except Mikey drives the said car)
- Maxed: Level 1 Lamborghini Murciélago Roadster, Saleen S7 Twin Turbo or Ford Shelby Cobra Concept's Medium difficulty AI set/stock performance of said cars' AI set on hard/hardest difficulty.
- Compared to the Ducati 1098R, the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14 has better handling.
- Even if the player is on a maxed Kawasaki Ninja ZX-14, some opponents will spawn on weaker Group 3, Class C cars, namely
- Oro in his Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4, despite also having an Audi R8 4.2 FSi Quattro
- Julian in his Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR, if raced from the Hangout race, despite spawning in his Ducati 999R in other races.
- Jesus in his Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged, despite also having an Aston Martin DB9
- Marcel in his Chevrolet Camaro Concept
- The 1098R's faster acceleration and higher top speed and lower price are to trade-off for the handling it has, however, the 1098R's speed difference makes times lower than the ZX-14, especially in Goal Attacks.
