Ken'Ichi is a character in Midnight Club II.

Background

Ken'ichi is a challenger in Tokyo, he is a high ranking Yakuza associate and has gotten Gina into trouble with the Yakuza, the player must race him to pay back Gina's debts. He is a physically large Japanese man and wears a black blazer, he also has a mustache and goatee. He is also based off a real life yakuza member named Kenichi Shinoda.

Storyline

After arriving in Tokyo, Gina was duped over by Ricky which subsequently lands her in trouble with Ken'ichi, an associate of Ricky's. She then asks for the players help by finding Ken'ichi as soon as possible and helping her out by racing him and destroying other racers to pay back her debt.

Trivia

• He threatens to kill the player on multiple occasions.
• It is heavily referenced that he is a high ranking Yakuza member, such as in his race names, which include 8-9-3, translating to ya-ku-za in Japanese.
• At the end of his last race, his involvement in the Yakuza is also a reference where he says "Yubizume is not required", referencing to how members are punished for wrongdoings, or to approve of their toughness, which involves the cutting a portion of their little fingers. usually done by Tanto (A person who cuts the finger) in front of their boss (Oyabun) so that they will feel the pain or can be done by themselves to reduce the pain.
• It is hinted that Ken'ichi has more than one car, as he said "You should see my other car".
