Lexus is a luxury division of Toyota founded in 1989 in the United States of America to compete against Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Cadillac, and Lincoln. In Lexus' first years, Lexus has sold high-end models that are also sold in the Japanese domestic market, which eventually the brand become to make its own models. This strategy of Toyota is very similar to Honda, which made Acura, and Nissan, which later founded Infiniti. The acronym for Lexus is for Luxury Export United States.
Since 2008, Chile is the only South American country to sell Lexus vehicles, however, Lexus is expected to enter the Mexican car market in September 2021. [1]

Logo History[]
The Lexus logo has only had 2 designs over its history, making it a very conservative design. The emblem was designed in 1988 and almost remained untouched. Despite a new logo in 2023, the old one is still used to this day. The emblem features an oval with the letter "L" inside. There are some variations of the original logo, where the oval is either complete or open with gaps at the ends of the "L". The shape of the Lexus logo refers to the Toyota visual identity, celebrating both brands' connection and heritage. The oval is a symbol of harmony and perfection, values that Lexus value the most.
