Machi-yakko is the forty-seventh career event and a type of race featured in Midnight Club II. It is offered by Ken'Ichi in Tokyo after beating his first race, 8-9-3.
The player has to complete this event to free Gina from her debt with Ken'Ichi after Ricky got her into trouble with the Yakuza. The player must use a Tokyo Cop to arrest 9 suspects driving Saikous and Knights within 2 minutes. Like the Lose the Cops events in Los Angeles and Paris, Machi-yakko cannot be played in multiplayer.

Even though the player is forced to use Tokyo Cop in Career mode, any other car can be used when replaying the event in Arcade mode.
Player can use Burnout to turn his car 180 degrees and get to racers faster.
