Description[]
The CL 500 is the coupé (coupé leicht) series of the flagship Mercedes S-Class. It is the base model of Mercedes' luxury Grand Tourer lineup.
Prior to the CL's introduction in 1996, it was the S500 coupé, and the S-Class was offered in both sedan and coupe trims for a brief time. The C215 generation is the second generation of the CL, and featured the CL 500 and the CL 600, which were powered by a V8 and V12 respectively. It had 3 different engine options: the 5.0L V8 (M113), 5.8L V12 (M137), and the 5.5L V12 (M275), used by the twin-turbo CL65 AMG.
Although the CL would garner a cult following, sales eventually dwindled compared to the S-Class sedan, and future generations of the CL would regain the S-Class name.
Performance[]
Acceleration is somewhat lacking, but the car's high top speed makes up for it. The vehicle is often outclassed considering the earliest point in career mode players can acquire it is after beating most Luxury Rollers races up to that point and most C-Class vehicles will find themselves left behind by faster B and early A-Class vehicles in Detroit.
