The Mercedes-Benz SL 500 in the game is based on the R230 platform.
Performance[]
The SL 500 is fast when performing in straight lines, beating the Lexus SC430, especially in top speed, however it has a tendency to oversteer when entering rough terrain.
It becomes quickly outclassed by the SL 55 AMG once it is awarded to the player, the price also making it a bit of a head scratcher not to just wait for the AMG instead, but in a vacuum, the SL 500 performs well enough to be competitive, provided that the player has earned enough cash for it.
