Midnight Club: L.A. Remix is a scaled-down version for the PlayStation Portable. After the character has completed a certain tournament in the PSP version, an unknown man somehow has reached his phone number, and calls saying that he wants to meet him at the Los Angeles International Airport on "his flight to Tokyo", then the character says "You talking about the Mid Night Club?" After the call, the Tokyo career and map can be accessed in Midnight Club: L.A. Remix.
Midnight Club: L.A. Remix is a spin-off game for the PlayStation Portable that is scaled-down from Midnight Club: Los Angeles. The game was released on October 21, 2008 in North America, and October 24, 2008 internationally. Unlike the console version, the map only features a portion of Los Angeles, using a slightly modified version of the map from Midnight Club II. However, to compensate, L.A. Remix features the Tokyo map from Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition (REMIX).
In L.A. Remix, the police do not chase the player in "Cruise" mode, but can be encountered during races. The player can eventually be caught after evading the police for a long period of time and eventually get boxed in. However, the player receives no fine upon getting caught, almost similar to Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition.
The remix version do not contain cutscenes unlike the console version. The cars in the remix version are split up; meaning that half the cars can only be used in Los Angeles while the other half can be used in Tokyo. The motorcycles, however, are not split up and can be used in both cities.
Campaign[]
The campaign is very similar to the console version.
In the campaign, after completing a certain tournament in Los Angeles, a mysterious unknown man somehow finds the player's number and calls him on his T-Mobile Sidekick. The man tells the player he wants to meet him at the Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) on "his flight to Tokyo." the player responds with "you talking about the Mid Night Club?." After the call, the Tokyo map and career can be accessed.
Trivia[]
- It has been speculated many times as to what the Protagonist's real name is. However, in race in Tokyo, when one of the racers asks "What's your name, cutie?", the Protagonist responds with "my momma calls me Matthew, but you can call me anything you want." . This could just be a reference to Matthew Metzger, the voice actor of the Protagonist or a revelation of their actual name.[1]
