Midnight Club Wiki

This guide provides a walkthrough on how the player should progress through the second part of Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, which takes place in Atlanta, Georgia.

Entering Atlanta[]

When you enter Atlanta via the City Movers or having selected it from the main menu, you will be spawned near Apone Team Racing (in the REMIX version of the game). After this, a tournament hosted by DUB Magazine will open, offering a Cadillac Escalade EXT DUB Edition that is awarded to the tournament's winner as a way to start the player in the Big Playas club races.

Attributes in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition

It is not recommended to upgrade and use the DUB Escalade EXT, especially when having the REMIX Edition of the game, as the Big Playas club races will be difficult even with Level 1 upgrades, owing to how slow and heavy the EXT is, and opponents will commonly drive the B-Class SUV/Trucks, namely the Chevrolet Silverado SST Concept, Dodge RAM SRT-10 and Gemballa GT 750, with the latter of them three having significantly higher performance for an SUV/Truck. Upgrading the EXT to level 1 costs $14,388, but owing to it's sub-par performance at level 1, it is instead best recommended to sell the Escalade EXT for it's massively high value of $65,832, with $42,592 coming from the EXT itself and $22,800 coming from the DUB Edition parts.

Instead, save the Big Playas races until after completing the U.S. Championship Series. This is due to the Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG's usability and the payouts for the Big Playas races, plus the Gemballa GT 750 will significantly reduce the difficulty, likely to trade-off for it's massive $360,000 price tag.

You should use one of the vehicles listed below. A Level 1 Class C vehicle or maxed Class D vehicle has the same performance as a stock Class B vehicle of the same type. Install level 2 (IS300 or starter cars) or level 1 (Class C Tuners) upgrades as soon as you unlock it. Use it until you open Detroit.

As suggested below, it is highly recommended to sell off the Hotmatch Cuevito for it's $52,000 value, as the Chopper of America Bike Club Club Races should be avoided until after the U.S. Championship Series, as club races payout are dependent on the player's story progress, and the Hotmatch Skully is not a recommended choice for the Detroit portion of the storyline.

Recommended vehicles

Any of the three Japanese Class C Tuners are highly recommended, along with the fully upgraded Lexus IS300.

The Lotus Elise 111R is another alternate option, but owing to it's low top speed and handling (despite the stats claiming to be the highest) and also lacks visual body kit customization (which makes it a pseudo-exotic), it is therefore recommended to use any of the Japanese Tuners instead.

First round of Atlanta Racers[]

To progress, the player must defeat Roy and either Dre or Vito. One of the latter two can be left and revisited later in the game, especially after the U.S. Championship Series, but the player must defeat Vito to take part in the Original Riders races. It is highly recommended to race all three first before moving on to the second round.

Dre[]

This guy drives a totally pimped out, red Cadillac Escalade, and represents the Big Playas, the SUV/Truck Club. When you beat this guy, he will get you invited to race against the Big Playas if you have not beaten Lamont beforehand, though it isn't recommended to do the club races right away as the Mercedes-Benz G55 AMG isn't useful in the main Career Mode, and the cash payouts are lower if the player does the club races before beating the U.S. Championship Series, and could be more challenging than doing them with the Gemballa GT 750.

His first race will be in Take 'Er Easy. Use a level 1 Toyota Supra, Nissan 350Z, Lotus Elise or Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII or a maxed out Dodge Neon SRT-4, Volkswagen Golf R32 (Mk.4) Lexus IS300 to take down this ultra-heavy Escalade.

Roy (first encounter)[]

This guy's a member of the American Royalty Car Club. He drives a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T.

He has four races, just like Phil. Continue with a maxed Class D Tuner or level 1 Class C Tuner to take down this old muscle racer. Beating him will unlock Color Shift paint, and will convince Lamont to look for a challenger.

Vito[]

This biker rides a red Ducati Monster S4R, and, as Oscar says, he looks more concerned about his hair than racing. As soon as you beat this guy, the Original Riders challenge you, and a tournament opens to get you a Sport Bike that will help you get started in the club races if you wish to do them before unlocking better ones, though it may not be recommended to do right away unless you prefer to use bikes, with the Aprilia RSV Mille 1000R Factory being the best option for their club races.

A maxed SRT-4, IS300 or Golf R32 is still the recommended vehicle to take on this biker, or you can leave him behind to allow his second and third races to pay more when you revisit him after becoming US Champion (if Dre and Cheng were defeating during the main storyline).

Second Round of Atlanta Racers[]

During the second phase of Atlanta racers, opposition begins to climb, with Class C Tuners being replaced by more frequent encounters of the Class B ones after unlocking them for purchase.

Hotlanta Tournament[]

The loading screen

The Hotlanta Tournament loading screen

Another Autocross Tournament, organized by the Original Riders to get you started in their club races. Win and you will earn the Ducati SS1000.

Be careful, since this is a sport bike, it will initially have no nitrous, and can only have two nitrous maxed, like D-Class cars, and every crash knocks you off the bike, immobilizing you for at least 5 seconds. Also, leave the club races for the Original Riders for later after the U.S. Championship Series, when you can have the Aprilia RSV Mille 1000R Factory or Ducati 999R plus level 2 upgrades to make the club races easier, as well as earning more cash from each Club Race.

Stick with a level 1 Class C tuner or a maxed Class D car (specially the Lexus IS300) instead for the rest of Atlanta until you can win the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34). You will unlock level 2 upgrades for Class C vehicles. After unlocking the parts, buy one of the Class C Tuners and upgrade it to max level.

Class B vehicles[]

During the Atlanta portion of the game, you will unlock Class B vehicles. The following vehicles will be unlocked with the Class B license.

It is not recommended to buy any of the Class B vehicles right away, and instead being recommended to buy them after the U.S. Championship Series, with any of the Muscle Cars, Choppers and SUV/Trucks in B being recommended (with the Hotmatch D'Elegance and either of the Chevrolet Camaro Z/28s being the best options for the Roar-based classes, as well as the Gemballa GT 750 (if the player has the REMIX edition of the game)).

It is also not recommended to buy either of the Mercedes-Benz due to the fact, that the player can win the Mercedes-Benz SL 55 AMG from the San Diego DUB Tournament and the Mercedes-Benz CL 55 AMG, being the club prize, having very low usefulness in Career Mode.

Also, while the player unlocks the Ducati Monster S4R, it is recommended to avoid this bike due to the fact the Hotlanta Tournament set up a Ducati SS1000 as a starter bike for the Original Riders bike club, however, unless the player wants the Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R, it is highly recommended to skip these club races until after completing the U.S. Championship Series, and blitz it with a fully upgraded Aprilia RSV Mille 1000R Factory or Ducati 999R instead.

Also, it isn't recommended to buy any of the Class B "Tuners" due to their high price tags, lack of body customization, as well as the fact that completing the Unbeatable Street Racers club races awards the Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34) which is better in every conceivable way, as the Skyline is won for free, and it's only high price tag is the performance upgrades costing a total of $67,770 (or $63,450 with level 2 tires).

Cheng[]

 loading screen

Cheng's loading screen

A racer from the Unbeatable Street Racers that drives a Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII. He is one of the few optional racers to defeat. He is one of the two Detroit Gatekeepers, along with Naomi.

Continue with a maxed D Class or level 1 C Class Tuner on this challenge. You may unlock Class B vehicles at some point in the game. Ignore those until later.

Lamont[]

 loading screen

Lamont's loading screen

Lamont, a member of the Big Playas who drives a blue Chevrolet Silverado SS. It's a hot concept Truck that's built for speed, but still doesn't go all that fast.

Due to it's heavy weight, he is an easy racer, even with a level 1 C-Class tuner or maxed Class D car. Once you beat him, Roy will begin seeking for revenge, and if you haven’t beaten Dre yet, the Big Playas will invite the player to their club.

Naomi[]

 loading screen

Naomi's loading screen

A challenging racer from the Chopper of America Bike Club, be careful, she rides a Hotmatch Skully, a Class B Chopper that is the reward for the said bike club. Thankfully, she is an optional racer if you have defeated Cheng, who is also one of the two gatekeepers to Detroit. However, it is highly recommended to defeat her and Cheng right before Roy's revenge in order to allow the level 2 upgrades for Class C vehicles to unlock earlier, as well as Level 1 upgrades for Class B being unlocked after completing the city.

If you can, use your C-Class Tuner to take her down, and upgrade it if you unlock Level 2 upgrades for Class C vehicles for more power. You can later revisit her in any of the higher end Exotic supercars if you have already beaten Cheng, therefore, increasing payouts especially after becoming US Champion.

Finale[]

Roy (second encounter)[]

Roy's loading screen during his 2nd encounter

Angered by his earlier loss, after you have defeated Lamont, Roy begins to seek revenge on the player, now driving a 1999 Dodge Charger R/T Concept.

Although this rematch is possibly the third racer you face, you also need to defeat one of Cheng or Naomi to enter Detroit. If you have beaten the said racers before his rematch, you will unlock level 1 upgrades for Class B vehicles right away, though there is a better option from the Club Races.

Use your max upgraded C-Class Tuner to beat him, and if you do, you open Detroit (if you also have defeated Cheng or Naomi) and unlock Level 2 Upgrades for Class C vehicles and possibly Level 1 Upgrades for Class B vehicles. Also, it is recommended that you win all previous races of Unbeatable Street Racers before heading off to Detroit, where he will follow you as he seeks revenge again, as the prize vehicle of that club will help you for most of the city.
