Logo History

The Mitsubishi logo has gone through 5 different designs over its history. The famous emblem was created in the 1870s and celebrates the company's heritage and history. The three red diamonds represent the three important values of Mitsubishi: reliability, success and integrity. The use of red shows the passionate, powerful and energetic image of the company. The first logo was designed based on two crests: the 3-rhombus for Iwasaki (founder) and the shape of 3 oak leaves for the Tosa Clan, the first employers of Yataro Iwasaki.
