The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX is a 4-door performance saloon sold by Mitsubishi in the North American market.
It is the successor to the Lancer Evolution VIII, replacing it in March 2005, and was in turn replaced by the Lancer Evolution X in 2008.
The main alteration of the IX is a reworked turbocharger producing an additional 25 horsepower with MIVEC (Mitsubishi Innovative Valve timing Electronic Control system) - Mitsubishi's variable valve timing - as well as a slightly reworked body. It was also sold as an wagon for the Japanese market during 2006.
The MR trim includes alterations made with the GSR trim; Bilstein shocks, leather Recaro seats, a rear diffuser, and plastic spoiler uprights. With further modifications with the MR trim; a 6-speed transmission, Bilstein shocks, a body-coloured front bumper lip, aluminium roof, aluminium doors, aluminium front fenders, HiD headlights, and OEM 17" BBS wheels.

The Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution IX MR is available with the main game. It is classified as a B-class Group 3 Tuner. It costs $32,000 to purchase. Alternatively, a pre-customized version of the Evolution IX MR is available by defeating Pete in a pink slip race.
Performance.[]
In MCLA, the Mitsubishi Evolution IX MR is the last tuner available and also the best Tuner available as its stats are better than most other Tuners. It's acceleration however, like MC3 is lower than most other Tuners and as such should be upgraded to get the best out of this vehicle. When fully upgraded, this car beats every other tuner in it's class and it can even beat some of the Exotics in the game, such as the Miura, Gallardo, and the Aston Martin Vantage, and the Aston Martin DB9.
