A prize vehicle, is a vehicle that is won directly from completing a certain event, instead of having to be bought directly. The player can win certain prize vehicle through various sources, such as Tournaments, Club Races, Time Trials and Pink Slip Race.
Information[]
Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition[]
Unlike with regular vehicles that require to be purchased after unlocking their respective class' group of vehicles, prize vehicles are won in a specific way, and cannot be driven or seen in the player's possession until winning the said source race, even if the vehicle's class is unlocked. Also, the player can win a higher class vehicle even if their class' purchasable vehicles aren't unlocked yet.
During the course of their Career Mode, tournaments may pop up after defeating certain street racers. The player is informed of a tournament being open. Every tournament rewards them with a vehicle upon winning the tournament (having the most points across all racers). Typically, most of the tournaments open after the player is invited to a club, with the club offering a starter vehicle to the tournament's winner to help them get started in their club races.
Certain tournaments may offer a pre-customized DUB Edition of a said car instead of it's stock version, that being the Chrysler 300C's Balboa Park Tournament, the Cadillac Escalade EXT's Atlanta DUB Tournament and the Mercedes-Benz SL 55's San Diego DUB Tournament. The REMIX version of the game added two more Tournaments awarding DUB Edition cars, both being class-restricted tournaments and being part of Chrysler's LX platform, that being the Dodge Magnum R/T from the Ginza Tournament and the Dodge Charger SRT-8 from the Wharf Tournament. If the player wants to get the stock version of the vehicle, they must either sell the DUB Edition preset or de-customize it, or win the tournament with a full garage, which will reward a higher cash amount due to the DUB parts contained within the prize.
Also, Car Clubs have a series of races across all three US cities, with a vehicle from the said club being the reward for completing all races in the said club.
The Tokyo Challenge offers certain vehicles from a club or class in each tournament. Each tournament is restricted to the prize vehicle's type or class.
Also, there are three prize vehicles that aren't won via a tournament or club race, that being the Hotmatch Cuevito, which is won by defeating Phil, the Lamborghini Murciélago VT after winning the U.S. Championship Series and the Cadillac Sixteen, which is awarded after getting 100% completion the main U.S. Career Mode by completing all tasks in the three US cities (excluding Collectibles).
If the player wins a prize vehicle with a fully occupied garage (30 vehicles), or has illegally hacked/cheated to obtain the prize vehicle early, the player will be given the vehicle's full value instead as a compensatory reward, as if the player was required to buy the vehicle instead.

Midnight Club: Los Angeles[]
Certain missions will give the player a vehicle, such as Pink Slip Races, Time Trials or Tournaments.
In Pink Slip Races, the player will wager their own vehicle against the opponent's. There are several missions where one racer offers one of their vehicles that they do not normally drive in random encounters. If the player defeats the opponent, they win the vehicle that was offered in the mission, or if they lose, their vehicle will be taken away and must be won back in any of the hangouts. The player cannot take part in these races when they only have one vehicle.
In Time Trials, the player wins the first vehicle offered in the Time Trial upon beating the third time set.
In Tournaments, the player wins a pre-customized DUB version of a car upon winning the tournament on Hard Difficulty. These variants differ from their stock counterparts that they are considered a separate car, and have level 1 performance upgrades pre-installed.
The prize vehicles can be helpful to the player, since upon having $1,000,000 after becoming City Champ, the player can spend the said amount to buy a 50% share in Karol's garages, which makes everything free.
Despite being able to complete every mission with only the prize cars, the player will only need to purchase a Sport Bike to finish every mission, as no sport bikes are given out as a prize by completing missions, since some of Andrew's missions after Downtown Andrew 2 require the use of a Sports Bike, which have to be purchased to progress through said missions, however, the said missions can be skipped until the player gives the $1,000,000 to Karol.
If the player's garage is full upon earning a prize vehicle, the player will earn the stock vehicle's value instead of the actual prize car.
