The Smuggler's Run Baja Buggy is an unlockable bonus vehicle that appears in Midnight Club: Street Racing.
Description[]
The Baja Buggy can only be unlocked by having a Smuggler's Run save game, another game made by Rockstar Games and Angel Studios, on the same memory card. If done correctly, the car will appear before the Taxi Cabs and after the London Police, and can only be used in Arcade Mode. This car does not appear in the GBA version of Midnight Club: Street Racing.
Although the Baja Buggy in Smuggler's Run can appear in multiple colors, in Midnight Club: Street Racing it is colored only with a red chassis and mustard yellow fenders. It also has a skull in its doors, the same skull decal as the Zender Beta.
Performance[]
The Baja Buggy tends to oversteer and in return, has extremely slippery handling and very soft suspension. It is also vulnerable to frequent rollovers, and is the only vehicle in the game to not automatically right itself if it falls over (you have to press and hold the drift button in order to right it - this is the same behavior necessary to right the vehicle in Smugger's Run). The buggy can also regenerate its own damage bar, similar to its behavior in Smuggler's Run. Despite being designed for off-road purposes, it has very good acceleration, and is slightly faster than the standard Taxi, having a top speed of 126 mph (202 kph).
Trivia[]
- Unlike other vehicles in Midnight Club: Street Racing, which describe the vehicle's weight, drivetrain, and horsepower, the Baja Buggy's in-game description is simply "Thanks for purchasing both games!"
- Despite the above, the vehicle's weight is 2000 KG (4,400 lbs) with a max horsepower value of 540.
- This is the only vehicle not unlocked when using the "ALLCARS" cheat in the hidden cheat menu.
