Artist Trivia[]
- "The Aztec Mystic" is an alias used by American techno DJ and producer Rolando Rocha, mainly known as DJ Rolando. He used to be part of the Detroit music collective "Underground Resistance" from 1994 to 2004, which mainly produced Detroit techno music. [1]
- "Baby" and "Birdman" are both aliases by rapper Bryan Christopher Williams. Bryan used to use "Baby" initially, but now he is mainly known as "Birdman."[2]
- "Dark Energy" and "Suburban Knight" are both aliases of American DJ and producer James Pennington. He is also a member of the Detroit techno collective "Underground Resistance."[3][4]
- "Dom & Roland" is the alias of British Drum 'n' Bass producer Dominic Angas; "Roland" refers to his Roland sampler.[5]
- Galaxy 2 Galaxy is a musical collective that features some members of Underground Resistance. Some of the UR songs featured are also credited to them.
- "The Tek Brothers" is a musical duo consisting of Andre Womack and Raphael Merriweathers Jr, who both are part of the collective "Underground Resistance."
- Raphael goes by many different aliases, including: 051, Ray 7, The Beat Mechanic, The Unknown Soldier and most importantly M.I.A.
- M.I.A. is also the stage name of British rapper and singer Mathangi "Maya" Arulpragasam, whose song Fire Fire is also featured in the soundtrack.
Song Trivia[]
- Amazon, Hi-Tech Jazz, and Jupiter Jazz are also credited to "Galaxy 2 Galaxy" because they were featured on the compilation: "UR presents: Galaxy 2 Galaxy - A Hitech Jazz Compilation."
- "Archaeon" is titled as "Dom & Keaton - Archaeon" in-game because whenever Dom featured an artist on his album "Back For The Future," , he would title the song as "Dom & [ARTIST] - [SONG].
- "Bite Before You Bark" by Fix is technically a correct title, however most releases of the song are credited to Orlando Voorn. It's possible the song was credited to "Fix" for convenience sake.
- "Denang" is a song written and produced by "The Tek Brothers," although the song title in-game credits the song to "M.I.A." (Raphael Merriweathers Jr.). However, in all releases of the song, the artist is credited as "Tek Brothers" or "Tek Bros." The song is also spelt as "Danang" or "Da Nang" on some of the releases.
- "Jaguar" was created by DJ Rolando and released on his EP "Knights of the Jaguar" in 1999. The song artist is incorrectly listed in-game as "Knights of the Jaguar" for some reason, possibly an oversight.
- "Midnight Sunshine" was created by James Pennington, who goes by "Dark Energy" or "Suburban Knight." On the record "UR presents: Dark Energy," the song is spelt as "Midnite Sunshine."
- "Shyne On" is officially called "Get Your Shine On" on Birdman's second studio album "Fast Money" and it features Lil' Wayne. However, the title for the single version of the song is "Shyne On". On the cover for the vinyl and CD single, the full title reads "Baby a.k.a. Birdman - Shyne On - feat. Lil' Wayne," which is possibly why the song is listed the way it is in-game.
