A tournament is a series of races that are featured in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition and Midnight Club: Los Angeles. The races are frequently encountered during the game's storyline.

Unlike regular races, tournaments cannot have their individual races restarted, and must restart the entire tournament.

Upon winning a tournament, the player is awarded a Prize Vehicle (or if their garage is full; the vehicle's purchase price).

Summary[]

Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition[]

A tournament is open after defeating a certain racer, usually to commemorate a club challenging the player, where a certain prize vehicle of their vehicle type is awarded to help the player get started in the club races. Tournaments in the US Career Mode are marked with a gold trophy (Tournament)

Once a Vehicle club challenges the player after defeating the racer, a club typically organizes a tournament that opens right after receiving the invite, providing a vehicle to get the player started in their respective Club Races as the prize, also, a tournament will open in each later city after defeating the gatekeeping racer of each city, such as the Atlanta DUB Tournament and Bad Boyz Tournament.

Tournaments will also take into account the player's career progression level, if a tournament was neglected until a later part of the Career Mode, opponents will progressively drive faster vehicles, especially, if a tournament was attempted during or after the U.S. Championship Series, opponents will only drive the Saleen S7, Lamborghini Murciélago VT, Mercedes-Benz CLK GTR, McLaren F1 LM, Chrysler ME Four-Twelve or the Pagani Zonda C-12 S (REMIX).

In the Tokyo Challenge, tournaments are opened after winning City Races in the area, marked with a (Tokyo Races). Unlike regular Career Tournaments, these tournaments are restricted to either vehicle type (marked as Tokyo Tournament Blue) or performance class (marked as Tokyo Tournament).

Trivia[]

  • The Chopper of America Bike Club is the only club not to organize a tournament, as the Hotmatch Cuevito is won from defeating Phil.
  • The Atlanta DUB Tournament being open at the start of Atlanta is due to the possibility the Big Playas can challenge the player by defeating either Dre or Lamont, in which even if the player proceeded to Detroit by defeating Vito and Naomi, but leaving behind Dre and Cheng, the Big Playas will still challenge the player.
  • The San Diego DUB Tournament is the only tournament that opens in an earlier city after defeating a rival in a later city.
  • The initial three San Diego tournaments are the only Career tournaments to award a Class D vehicle, as the prize vehicles were set up to help the player get started in the initial three clubs, and one of them must be won to continue the storyline.
