— Nav System description

The U.S. Championship Series is the final series in Midnight Club 3: DUB Edition, organized by the Car Clubs. The U.S. Championship Series occurs after the player defeats every racer in Detroit.

Each city has two rivals (in the case of Detroit, three rivals; due to all racers being mandatory in that city) to be faced for the player to become the U.S. Champion.

Plot[]

Following the defeat of every Detroit racer, which culminates at either Ceasar’s second encounter or Angel’s first encounter, the player will be sent to Vince’s garage. He informs the player that the Car Clubs have organized one final series, across all three US cities, with a Lamborghini Murciélago VT being the prize for whoever is the winner of the series.

Upon returning to Cruise Mode, the player is notified that certain racers they have previously faced are looking for a challenger, now in Exotics (or their club's respective prize bikes in the case of Spider and Kioshi).

After defeating all 7 racers, the player is sent back to Vince's, and he gives the keys to the Lamborghini Murciélago, which will add a copy of the Murciélago to the player's garage, or if the player's garage is full, will be given it's purchase price of $297,700 but still unlocks the Murciélago for purchase and use in other modes.

Rivals[]

There are a total of 14 races against the US Champs, with two rivals in each area (except in Detroit where three rivals appear due to every racer in that city being mandatory to defeat) having two races each, totalling 7 rivals to face.

AI Opponents[]

AI Opponents, other than the U.S. Champ hookman, typically drive the cars shown below. Sometimes, other opponents will spawn in the same vehicle as the hookman racer.

Kioshi only[]

In the case of Kioshi, opponents will also be using the Class A Sport Bikes, as she represents their club.

Specific rivals only[]

On certain occasions, Angel may spawn Cadillac Cien opponents, as Angel's Cien is slower than most opponents in the U.S. Championship Series, though he drove a Saleen S7 in his first encounter, which opponents in the late game typically drive.

Also, in the REMIX version of the game, Ceasar's championship will rarely spawn the REMIX-exclusive exotics (Lamborghini Diablo VT and Gemballa F355 if the player had not unlocked level 2 upgrades for Class A vehicles, which can happen if the player wins the City Tournament (Detroit) early, causing several delays in unlocking Class A components.

Rewards[]

Once the player wins every race in the U.S. Championship Series, the player is awarded the Lamborghini Murciélago VT, with a copy of the said car added to the player's garage and unlocked for use in all modes.

If the player has a full garage upon becoming the U.S. Champion, or already obtained a Murciélago through hacks early, the player will be awarded it's purchase price of $297,700 to compensate for the inability to store the prize, but still unlocks the Murciélago.

If the player had done all other career mode tasks upon beating the U.S. Championship Series, the player will be awarded the Cadillac Sixteen, or it's purchase value of $250,000 if their garage is full, or the save was hacked to obtain a Sixteen early.

Payouts in City Races, Club Races, Tokyo Challenge Races and unfinished street racers will be increased to between $12,000 and $26,000, therefore, recommending to leave Club Races for most vehicle types to reduce difficulty in doing the club races, unless one wants to earn a specific Club Reward vehicle (eg. Nissan Skyline GT-R V-Spec (R34)).

Strategy[]

It is highly recommended to use any of the exotics that have at least two 90+ stats, as they have the highest performance of every vehicle in the game, and the opponents also drive those cars.

The A-Class Sport Bikes may offer similar performance at level 2 to the high-end exotics at a lower price, however, it will be more challenging to use them as the bikes are limited to the Class D Nitrous capacity, as well as having to be upgraded with exhaust, engine and jet kits, while the exotics are already high-performing and only have Nitrous upgrades.

It is highly recommended to unlock Level 2 Performance parts for Class A vehicles, which can add a 4th Nitro slot to the Exotic cars. While there have been reports that unlocks for Class A vehicles are delayed, the possible cause of this is likely due to doing the City Tournament (Detroit) early, with most runs that did said tournament before unlocking Class A vehicle having the level 1 upgrades unlocked at the end of the 7th racer, causing level 2 upgrades to be unlocked after doing 5 U.S. Championship Series races in Detroit, therefore avoiding the tournament until unlocking level 2 upgrades is a recommended strategy to avoid delay, with runs not doing the tournament early unlocking the level 2 upgrades as early as the second race of the 6th racer in Detroit, sometimes unlocking it after beating the 6th racer in the city.

Recommended vehicles[]

The following vehicles are highly recommended options to easily complete the U.S. Championship series.

Pro tip: If one cannot afford any of the high-end Exotics, some vehicles that could be sold include the 1957 Chevrolet Bel Air, Hotmatch Cuevito, Chrysler 300C and Cadillac Escalade EXT (which are given out to start in the respective Club Races, however it is highly recommended to not do the respective clubs they were given to start in until after beating the U.S. Championship Series, as doing Club Races after the U.S. Championship raises their payouts to between $13,000-$24,000, and the player having acquired/unlocked better vehicles from their type), the 1949 Chevrolet Fleetline, as it's late availability and performance nowhere better than any of the Class C Muscle Cars, therefore, recommending the player to win the Bad Boyz Tournament that will give the player an additional $54,000, with $20,000 from winning the tournament and $34,000 by selling the Fleetline without upgrading/customizing it.

McLaren F1 LM[]

F1LM-MC3-front

The best vehicle that isn't won as a prize. It can be bought for $250,000 after unlocking Class A vehicles. It is recommended due to it's extremely fast acceleration and high top speed. Be careful, the F1 LM's price may require you to sell some of the prize cars that have a decent value until you can hit $250,000.

Also, you may struggle to handle the car properly without the Zone ability, so after buying it, win the first three By Invitation Only club races for the Zone special ability.

Chrysler ME Four-Twelve[]

ME412-MC3-front

Being the reward for the By Invitation Only Club Races, the ME Four-Twelve performs excellently with it's quad-turbocharged V12 and is the only car in the game to feature a 7-speed gearbox.

As the player will have the Zone special ability, it will give the player an advantage during their U.S. Championship run.

Pagani Zonda C 12 S[]

MC3-ZondaFront

The best and fastest overall vehicle in the game, being a REMIX-exclusive car, it can be won in the Tokyo Challenge's Imperial Palace Tournament, which the player must win 34 Tokyo City Races to open the tournament.

If the player wins either the Cadillac Cien or Kawasaki Ninja ZX-12R before unlocking the Class A vehicles, the Zonda can be unlocked before the said situation happens.

Alternate options[]

Saleen S7[]

S7-MC3-front

Another car that has at least two 90+ stats, however, you will have to spend $125,000 more than the McLaren F1 LM if you want to use this Windsor V8-powered supercar, therefore, not recommended budget-wise, unless you want to try this car, which may suffer from spinouts when hitting traffic at high speeds.

The money could instead be saved for the Gemballa GT 750, if you would want to blitz/cheese the Big Playas club races after becoming the U.S. Champ.

Trivia[]

  • Both motorcycle-riding racers use the bike that is won from completing their respective club's races.
  • Angel is the only opponent to drive a lower level car, in which, he drives a Saleen S7 in his first encounter, while he drives a Cadillac Cien in the US Champ Series.
    • Coincidentally, when the player drives a high end exotic with level 2 nitrous, the player will usually race against the exotics driven by the US Champs (or the Saleen S7 in the case of Angel).
  • The Luxury Rollers Car Club is the only car club not to have any of the members representing the U.S. Championship series.
  • While the Career mode effectively encourages players to race every racer, it is possible to become the U.S. Champion beating as few as 17 racers and one tournament, namely Vanessa's two encounters either Carlos or Bishop, Phil, plus one of the City Tournament (San Diego), Balboa Park Tournament or Stage Tournament, either Dre or Vito, Roy's three encounters, Lamont, Spider, Leo, Ceasar's two encounters, Kioshi and Angel, along with one of the three initial San Diego Tournaments (City Tournament (San Diego), Stage Tournament or Balboa Park Tournament) being mandatory to reach the true ending.
    • For this reason, the player can have up to 9 active racers waiting for them at the start of the series, with Detroit being the only city to have three U.S. Championship racers looking for challengers.
  • If the player leaves any of the racers above until after they finish the U.S. Championship series, chances are that the following U.S. Championship race layouts will spawn on any of the rivals.
    • Vanessa's second race Jumps Galore. or Spider's second race City Loop can spawn on Carlos or Bishop
    • Lamont's second race Into the City or Angel's second race Through The City can spawn on Dre, Cheng, Vito or Naomi.
      • This is the only way, aside from Arcade Mode to re-play these races in Career Mode outside of the series.
