An Unordered Race is a type of race in the Midnight Club series in which the player must complete a race course by clearing checkpoints in any order. Whoever clears all the checkpoints and gets to the finish line first wins.

Midnight Club II features various unordered races.
Los Angeles[]
The first city, Los Angeles, features four unordered races.
The first race is offered by Steven in his second race, Triple Threat. The player has to race against Steven and five other racers by collecting 3 checkpoints and then heading towards the finish line. This is the easiest of the unordered races. No cops are involved during the race.
The second race is offered by Angel in his first race, Hollywood Hysteria. The player has to race against Angel and four other racers by collecting 11 checkpoints in Hollywood and then heading towards the finish line downtown. Beating the race unlocks the Burnout technique. No cops are involved during the race.
The third race is offered by Hector in his second race, Block Party. The player has to race against Hector and five other racers in the rain by collecting 12 checkpoints downtown and then heading towards the finish line. Beating the race unlocks the Slipstream Turbo (SST) technique. No cops are involved during the race.
The fourth and final race is offered by World Champion Savo in his last set of races in Los Angeles, Stage V - Traction. The player has to race against Savo and four other racers in the rain by collecting 18 checkpoints across Los Angeles and then heading towards the finish line at the parking lot. This is one of the hardest unordered races. No cops are involved during the race.
Paris[]
The second city, Paris, features four unordered races.
The first race is offered by Julie & Jewel in their first race, Twin Turbo. The player has to race against Julie and five other racers by collecting 11 checkpoints in the narrow streets of Paris and then heading towards the finish line that's not far from the start line. No cops are involved during the race.
The second race is offered by Primo in his first race, Seine Insane. The player has to race against Primo and five other racers in Vortex 5s by collecting 19 checkpoint across the Seine and then heading towards the finish line, which is also the start line. In addition, it's also a Time Trial, forcing the player to finish the race within 2:55. No cops are involved during the race.
The third race is offered by Stephane in his first race, Roundabout Run. The player has to race against Stephane and five other racers by collecting 14 checkpoints in the roundabout roads of Paris and then heading towards the finish line near the Sacre Coeur Cathedral. This race features the involvement of the National Police during the race.
The fourth and final race is offered by World Champion Savo in his second set of races in Paris, Stage III - Burn. The player has to race against Savo and four other racers with heavy traffic by collecting 4 checkpoints across Paris and then heading towards the finish line next to the start line. This is one of the hardest unordered races. No cops are involved during the race.
Tokyo[]
The third and final city, Tokyo, only features one unordered race. It is offered by Haley in her first race, Enigma. The player has to race against Haley and six other racers with no traffic by collecting 12 checkpoints across Shinjuku and then heading towards the finish line. No cops are involved during the race.

There are 6 unordered races in Midnight Club: Los Angeles. However, no Unordered Races are encountered in Career Mode, and only are necessary to complete the Goal Attack mode.
